Most of the critical discourse analysis is directed to analysing media discourses and political discourses, however; literary works can be subjected on different levels such as drama novels. This paper focuses employing Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) in investigating linguistic rhetorical devices Hemingway’s The Old Man Sea. main objective current study analyse texts selected from Sea terms linguistics features by adopting two models: Fairclough’s three-dimensional model (2001) Burke’s four master tropes (1969). has reached following concluding points: Hemingway uses more informal simple vocabulary concrete specific words.
